Our Teacher – Jason Gallagher
I have always loved piano. Ever since I was a kid, I loved all the different sounds the piano could make. From the blues to rock to the classics, I played everything.
As I got older and more serious, I realized there were things I couldn’t do. When I tried to play the music I loved, it hurt. I had pains in my wrists, and there were many techniques my body refused to do. I decided to go to college for music because I knew I had limits, and I wanted to go past them.
After getting a Bachelor’s and a Master’s, I play well. Professional level. I’ve studied with masters such as Phyllis Lehrer, Ingrid Clarfield, and Robert Durso, and I’ve overcome every difficulty I ever had. Thanks to that, I love piano more as an adult than I ever did as a child.
I am fascinated by the process of how children learn to play piano. I’ve spent years studying how they learn to read, develop good technique, and become confident musicians.
Unfortunately, many teachers out there teach piano just because it’s popular. You’ve seen them: they proudly say they teach piano…and guitar, and voice, and drums.
The piano is such a complex and beautiful instrument that unless the teacher specializes in it, things fall through the cracks. Kids end up quitting after one or two years because they never got the tailored help they need.
The first teacher is the most important. Get started with me, and I’ll ensure that your child gets the foundation they need. And if they’ve already started but have hit a wall, I’ll help them get past that and grow to the next level.

Jason is a great piano teacher. When he comes, he always asks me, “How was your week?” And I’ll tell him about how boring it was, or how stressed I was, or maybe how I excited I was. He doesn’t overwhelm you, but he does try to help you reach a higher level. I would definitely recommend Jason as a piano teacher if you really want to grow in piano.
