Give Your Child a Better Start at the Piano
I was always a music kid—band, chorus, jazz band, choir, and piano.
But as the music got harder, I discovered something frustrating:
Practicing more didn’t always make playing easier.
My teacher was wonderful, but when I struggled, the advice was usually, “Work on that part” or “Try one hand at a time.”
So I went looking for better answers.
I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees, read dozens of books, watched instructional videos, and eventually studied with a master teacher in Philadelphia.
No matter what problem I brought him, he could show me exactly what was making the music difficult… and what to do about it.
Eventually, he taught me to do the same.
Because I spent years searching for those answers, your child won’t have to.

Imagine giving your child a start at the piano where they learn how to:
-
Play real songs from the beginning instead of waiting months to feel like they can “actually play.”
-
Know what to do when something feels difficult instead of repeating it over and over.
-
Make progress in shorter practice sessions—especially helpful when piano has to fit around school, sports, and everything else.
-
Build good playing habits from day one instead of fixing frustrating habits later.
-
Enjoy what they can do at the piano and have a reason to come back and play again tomorrow.
One of my students, Sarah, got to experience exactly that.
She came to a lesson wanting to play “Happy Birthday” for her grandfather.
There was just one catch:
His birthday was that night.
Sarah could play much of the song immediately. We worked through the few difficult spots during her lesson.
That evening, she played it for Grandpa.
The next day, her mom sent me the video.
That’s what I want for your child: not just to take piano lessons, but to be able to sit down and play.
